IV sedation
I.V. (intravenous) anesthesia is
commonly
used for office surgical procedures. This means you are in a controlled state of "sleep" and are typically unaware of the surgery. Patients considering anesthesia must prepare by
not eating or drinking anything,
except for prescribed medication, for
six hours before the appointment.
Additionally, an escort must be present to drive the patient home. For all appointments, patients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
