Drs. Norman Palm, Richard Panek and Julie Billups are each certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. After earning their Surgical Doctorates in Dentistry, they each completed a four year hospital residency training program in this specialty. Accredited residency programs include training in Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Trauma and Critical Care, as well as Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

In addition to residency training, the doctors stay current in their specialty by attending yearly ongoing continuing education courses. Recent training attended by the doctors included courses on dental implant reconstruction, and bone grafting to the facial skeleton.

All three surgeons have been certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). All doctors hold positions as Attending Staff, Dept. of Surgery, Div. of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Spectrum Health Grand Rapids, MI. Other medical staff positions are held at St. Mary's Hospital and Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids.
